TOMORROW'S big match-up will be the 23rd League meeting of Town and Hull on Humberside - at the third different venue.

The Tigers were based at Anlaby Road, the first ground the club actually owned, when Town claimed a 2-2 original Division II draw there at the tail end of the 1910-11 season, their first in the Football League (Hull had joined in 1905).

It was the first of six meetings at Anlaby Road, which was eventually swallowed up by a railway, and the first of six draws in the series, the last of which was last season, when Town held Hull goalless on their first visit to the KC Stadium, shared with rugby league neighbours Hull FC.

Having started life at Hull FC's old Boulevard ground and also played at The Circle cricket ground before buying Anlaby Road, City moved to Boothferry Park, built on a former golf course a mile to the West, immediately after the War.

Town's first visit there was also in the original Division II, in 1952-53, when they won 2-0.

However in 14 subsequent visits to the venue, Town managed only two more victories.

Ian Greaves' side triumphed 3-2 during their Second Division title winning season of 1969-70, when Frank Worthington (2) and Bobby Hoy were on target.

And there was a victory by the same scoreline by Ian Ross's side in 1992-93, when Phil Starbuck, Phil Robinson and Iwan Roberts scored in a former Division II game.

In all, Town have won seven times in Hull while City have scored nine victories, the last by a 1-0 margin in 1994-95, when Neil Warnock led Town to promotion to the former First Division.
