IFFY ONUORA has renewed his partnership with former Town teammate Peter Jackson by becoming assistant manager at Lincoln.
The 40-year-old has signed a contract until the end of the season to replace Neil McDonald, who has moved to Leeds.
Onuora played alongside Jackson at Leeds Road in the early Nineties, and was brought back on loan during Jackson’s second spell as Town manager – playing against Lincoln in the 2003-04 League II play-off semi-finals, scoring in the first leg at Sincil Bank.
He also turned out for Mansfield, Gillingham, Swindon, Sheffield United, Wycombe, Grimsby and Tranmere.
Onuora has had coaching stints at Walsall, Swindon and Gillingham.
“Iffy was my number-one choice after Neil’s exit. I’m delighted to have him here” said Jackson.
Although he doesn’t officially start until Saturday, Onuora was last night at Accrington, where Lincoln won 3-0 through Mark Stallard, Ben Wright and Lee Beevers to go 16th in the League II table.
