THOSE were the days, my friend ...

Town Patrons enjoyed a trip down memory lane last night when four favourites from the Mick Buxton era returned to Huddersfield.

Dave Sutton, Keith Hanvey, Malcolm Brown and Ian Robins all featured in the side which won promotion from the Fourth Division in 1980.

Town rattled in 101 goals as the ended a five-season stay in the basement division.

Robins, a bargain £20,000 buy from Oldham in September 1978, scored 25 of them.

He retired in 1982, having scored 67 times for Town.

But defenders Sutton, Hanvey and Brown carried on, helping Town win promotion from Division III in 1983.

Raiding right-back Brown made 403 appearances in two spells with Town sandwiched around a stint with Newcastle.

Centre-back Sutton featured 284 times between 1978-84 and later played alongside Brown for Rochdale.

Sutton's back-four partner Hanvey made 235 appearances for Town from 1978-84 and was later commercial manager.
