HOT-SHOT Pawel Abbott is already being tipped for 30 goals this season - by a very reliable source!

Strike partner Andy Booth watched Abbott net all four goals in last night's 4-1 friendly victory at Harrogate Town and believes he's ready to take League I by storm.

Booth - who may play again in tonight's second-string friendly at Rossendale (7.30) - said: "When Pav plays like that there is no better finisher in the country.

"He is on fire after scoring those 27 goals last season and if he carries on like this he is going to be looking at 30-odd goals this time.

"Pav looks fit, strong and pacy and his finishing is second to none.

"I've played alongside some very good players in my career, but there is no-one better at finishing than Pav when he's in this form."

Booth himself is looking to improve on a 10-goal haul from last season and added: "We can't just rely on Pav, we've got to help him out with goals from other areas.

"I'm confident we will because the lads are looking fit and strong after a hard but enjoyable time in pre-season, and we can't wait for the League season to start."

Manager Peter Jackson - who includes Lee Fowler in the squad tonight as talks over his future have still to be concluded - was happy with last night's display apart from the late goal conceded.

"In the first half I thought we were fine and Pav took his goals really well, but we got a bit sloppy late on," said Jackson today.

"We have to stop conceding these goals which will cost us League points and that's why I had the lads running shuttles after the game as a punishment. I warned them at half time, but it didn't sink in and we got a bit complacent.

"The good thing is that we've come through with no injuries and all the lads who weren't involved last night will play tonight."

Meanwhile, ticket prices for the Carling Cup trip to Chesterfield on Wednesday, August 24 (7.30), have been announced today.

On the uncovered terrace it's £15 for adults, £8 for pensioners and £5 for juveniles.

In the wing stand, prices are £17 for adults and £11 concessions.
