Huddersfield Town secured a well-earned first win in eight games as they secured a 2-1 win over a disappointing Ipswich Town side.

Mick McCarthy's play-off chasers didn't know what had hit them in the opening period as stunning strikes from front pair Nahki Wells and James Vaughan gave Town a two-goal lead before Luke Varney reduced the arrears with a well-placed header just after the restart.

The visitors, though, rarely tested the Town defence thereafter and Chris Powell's side held on with a degree of comfort to register a priceless win which all but confirms their survival.
