Huddersfield Town overcame the sending-off of striker Nahki Wells to give themselves breathing space from the bottom three with an excellent 3-1 win at Millwall.

The Terriers took the lead through former Lions transfer target Sean Scannell from a Wells pass, but Stefan Maierhofer levelled for the hosts when he turned home from close in following a Shaun Williams free-kick.

And when Wells was dismissed for a second foul on Williams, it looked like it would be Millwall's day, but Jacob Butterfield's long-range drive went straight through Lions goalkeeper David Forde and James Vaughan sealed all three points from the penalty spot after a foul on Harry Bunn.
