MANAGER Peter Jackson believes Town can now build confidently after producing a solid 90-minute performance against Luton.

The League I leaders were restricted to just one shot on target - their goal by Ahmet Brkovic - as Town played freely in a new 4-4-2 formation.

Jackson explained leading scorer Pawel Abbott had felt `leg-weary' during training, so he opted for Luke Beckett and Andy Booth up front with Adnan Ahmed and Danny Schofield being added to midfield.

"The lads gave everything for me in terms of effort and desire and no-one hid from the challenge," said Jackson.

"We know we can play better and that our quality lets us down at times, but we kept going right to the end.

"I have been critical of our defending recently, but we didn't give the League leaders much of a look-in while, going forward, we were strong and dangerous and the Booth- Beckett partnership worked well for us."

One disappointment was the booking for Efe Sodje which means he misses the trip to MK Dons on Saturday.

"Getting a deserved equaliser so late in the game felt like we'd won the match, so we've got to look to build on it against MK Dons," added Jackson.

"We can take a lot of confidence out of the performance against a well-organised Luton side and full marks to the lads, I was delighted with them all."
