Huddersfield Town suffered more misery in London as they fell to a heavy 4-1 defeat at Brentford.

The Terriers got off to the worst possible start as Everton loanee Chris Long struck in just the fourth minute for the Bees but Harry Bunn equalised against the run of play with a fine individual strike before the Terriers collapsed after the break.

Long grabbed a second five minutes into the second period and Alex Pritchard and Jon Toral followed up to make it two defeats from two games in the capital for Chris Powell's men and seven goals conceded in the process.

But how did each Town player rank in the latest damaging away loss?

In pictures: Brentford 4-1 Huddersfield Town

Smithies - Deserves great credit for initially keeping Town in the game and made two outstanding stops to thwart Jonathan Douglas and then two-goal Long. Had no chance with any of the goals and was yet again not helped by a porous backline. 6

Smith - Back in the side but unable to offer much in either half as Brentford suffocated their visitors. Rarely ventured over the halfway line and found it difficult adapting to the various formations that Town slipped into during the game. 5

Hudson - Poor against former club Charlton Athletic at the weekend and he wasn't much better here, failing to track the runs of Long early on and was found out for pace badly on several occasions. Booked for a foul on the Bees frontman to compound a miserable night. 5

Wallace - Got off to an awful start as he got far too tight to Long for the opener and his positioning was called into question for the second goal as he endured a night to forget in a defence which looked shaky all night long. 5

Robinson - Looked unsure whether to support the isolated James Vaughan in attack or help out the hapless Wallace in defence and he ended up delivering a sub-standard performance as a result as he struggled to impose himself on the game before going off at the interval injured. 5

Scannell - Another inauspicious display from the wideman as he found himself having to assist Smith in defence and was only able to have an impact in the final third on fleeting occasions, with his crossing particularly poor. 5

Butterfield - One of few Town players who came out of this game with credit left intact as he gave Town some incision in midfield and led various counter attacks forward with some neat passing and driving runs. 6

Edgar - Improved performance from his nightmare display at Charlton but his fortunes did not improve dramatically in midfield, where he was guilty of some poor passing and positional play. 5

Hogg - His brief was to presumably stick tight to the effervescent Pritchard and stop him from dictating the tempo of the game, but he did not provide his usual work-rate and tenacity as he and the rest of the Town midfield were overrun. 5

Bunn - The star man by some considerable distance for Town, and not just for his goal. That strike was particularly eye-catching but his energy up and down the left flank in the first half was noticeable and he was a constant menace for Brentford's makeshift right-back Moses Odubajo. 7

Vaughan - A frustrating evening for the striker, who was fielded as a lone frontman in a system similar to the one that stifled Bournemouth, but he very seldom got the chance to show his qualities in the final third as he spent the entire match chasing lost causes and fouling incessantly. 5

Substitutes:

Carroll - Came on for Robinson as he made his first appearance this season and, within five minutes, he was to blame for Brentford retaking the lead as he gave Jota far too much space before being beaten with ease. Improved thereafter but looked understandably rusty. 5

Miller - Offered virtually nothing after arriving as a second-half substitute as the game slipped away from Town. 5

Coady - The Terriers badly missed his poise in midfield all night but he was unable to have a impact when he did arrive on the scene. 5
