Huddersfield Town stretched their unbeaten run in the Championship to five games after they fought out a 1-1 draw with 10-man Brighton and Hove Albion.

Jacob Butterfield struck first for the Terriers in the 10th minute but Albion rallied and deservedly levelled six minutes before the break through goalscoring defender Lewis Dunk.

Both sides had chances to secure all three points but had to settle for a share of the spoils ultimately, with the Seagulls going closest to finding the win when Sam Baldock's late strike was chalked off for offside before Kazenga LuaLua was sent off in stoppage time for a second yellow card.

But how did each Town player rank in the stalemate?

See our player ratings below.

Smithies - Did not have an awful lot to deal with but when he was called upon, he did not let his side down. Made notable second-half contributions to thwart Adrian Colunga and Sam Baldock. Had no chance with the equaliser. 7.

Smith - Was involved in the opener after whipping in a superb cross for Butterfield to notch the opener but from a defensive perspective, he was occasionally drawn out of position by the visitors' neat passing sequences and it led to a few openings from his side of the field. 6.

Hudson - The central defender was given possibly his toughest test so far in a Town shirt and was unsure whether to drop with Chris O'Grady or retain his position. May feel he could have done better with the Albion leveller but marshaled the backline well all in all. 6.

Lynch - Did not look overly fazed by facing his former employers but struggled to deal with the movement around him at times and came close to netting a late own-goal when he scooped an effort onto the roof of his own net. 6.

Robinson - Was pinned back by the persistent running of right-back Inigo Calderon and movement of Baldock off the right flank and somewhat unfairly became something of a scapegoat in the second half for fans in the second period after a couple of misplaced passes. 6.

Scannell - Was unable to have the same impact as his man-of-the-match display against Blackpool but he was a constant threat to the Seagulls defence and posed numerous problems for Adam Chicksen at left-back. 7.

Butterfield - Not just for his goal, but he truly was the star man in the Town side for his tenacity, passing and direct running at the heart of the Brighton defence. Took his strike superbly and drove his side on constantly in pursuit of an elusive winning goal. 8.

Hogg - Another slick, composed performance from the ever-improving midfield general, who dovetailed perfectly with his midfield team-mates. Kept the ball well, got stuck in and covered plenty of yards. 7.

Coady - A more disciplined performance than recent outings in terms of staying in a fixed position throughout. He sat alongside Hogg as much as anything and was tidy in possession and firm in the challenge in his attempts to help screen the defence. 7.

Bunn - Battled hard on the left flank and was full of energy as always but was up against a determined performer in Inigo Calderon, who ensured he would have to show the defensive side to his game too. 7.

Holt - Could not get the better of the two Brighton central defenders before the interval but came alive after the break and chased multiple lost causes in a bid to breach the backline. 6.

Substitutes:

Ward - Came on with just a few minutes to go and was only able to touch the ball once. 5.
