Huddersfield Town missed out on the chance to seal three much-needed points as Norwich City pounced in the final throes of an absorbing encounter to snatch a 2-2 draw.

Town had a number of chances in the opening period after Bradley Johnson had earlier seen a goal chalked off for handball but it wasn't until Ishmael Miller rounded John Ruddy and slammed home that they could make their chances pay.

Norwich stormed back though and levelled when substitute Wes Hoolahan latched onto a clever pass from Gary Hooper to trickle the ball home but it looked as if Town would be on the receiving end of a precious win as James Vaughan slotted home from Jacob Butterfield's cut-back.

But there was another twist in the tale as Vaughan was handed a second booking for removing his shirt and Alex Neil's side pounced as Jamar Loza scored his first goal for the East Anglian outfit in the 98th minute after a long ball had not been cleared.

But how did each Town player rank in the enthralling draw?

In pictures: Huddersfield Town 2-2 Norwich City

Smithies - His distribution of the ball was effective as he often went long to find the physical presence of Miller and he was largely reliable when called upon, although he nearly handed Sebastien Bassong an opener in the first half and was at fault for Hoolahan's equaliser. 6

Smith - Coped well with the twin threat of Johnson moving inside and Martin Olsson bombing down the left flank and used the ball very well too as he looked to get Town on the front foot. Slight question marks about his role in the late leveller but solid overall. 6

Hudson - Can be content with his overall contribution as his improvement continues apace. Read the game very well and kept the likes of Cameron Jerome and Hooper in check for large spells as he looked to guide his team home but sadly, it was to prove in vain. 6

Lynch - The player who will be called into question most for the Canaries' two goals will inevitably be the left-sided central defender, but he was otherwise a key part of the defence once more and looked as if he would repel the visitors' efforts until the very final stages. 6

Scannell - Started promisingly and pegged back Olsson for large periods in the first half but faded badly after the break and, like his team, seemed to retreat deeper and deeper when Norwich came onto Town in search of their first equaliser. 6

Butterfield - Quietly influential here and, even though it was far from his finest performance in a Town shirt, it was difficult to overlook the fact he provided assists for both goals and gave Town some tempo in the final third that they lacked as they away side dominated possession. 7

Hogg - An excellent display of leadership, diligence and commitment from Town's No.6, who was at the heart of everything good in Town's display, as he gave good passes, smothered the Norwich midfield and hassled and harried them throughout. 7

Coady - From the minute go he looked keen to prove a point here as he got in the faces of the Norwich midfield and took responsibility by involving himself in a number of duels, completing a rather selfless job for his side. 7

Carroll - Given the opportunity to impress in Jack Robinson's absence but he was not helped by a lack of support on the left flank and, though, at times he dealt with Nathan Redmond, he was caught napping badly for Hoolahan's goal and was beaten easily too often. 5

Miller - An outstanding performance from the much-maligned January signing, who showed what he is all about with so much power and strength to his game in attack to unsettle the Norwich backline. Took his goal superbly too, before being subbed. 7

Vaughan - The ultimate case of hero to zero as he looked to have given his side all three points before foolishly being sent off and handing something of an initiative to the visitors, which they exploited. Some of his link-up play with Miller, however, was excellent. 6

Substitutes:

Edgar - Unable to have any sort of impact when he came on and did not deal with the ball in for Joza's late strike. 5

Gobern - Couldn't get on the ball enough to keep Town ticking over and was mostly pushed back late on as Norwich pressed. 5
