TEAMMATES were quick to praise Anthony Lloyd as the latest Academy talent to break through.

The 19-year-old made his League debut on Saturday, when Town finished the game with a team averaging only 21½ years of age.

Six of the starting line-up could muster only 44 League starts between them, but Lloyd emerged with credit in the 3-0 win.

Striker Andy Booth, who clinched the points after strikes by Steve Yates and Paul Scott, commented: "Anthony Lloyd did really well right the way through the game.

"He got up and down that left wing fantastically, and you would have thought by the end he'd been playing there for years."

Skipper Rob Edwards, who has yet to play in the 3-5-2 formation because of injury, was equally impressed.

"Anthony had a cracking game and the gaffer now knows he has got another young lad who he can rely on," said Edwards.

Manager Peter Jackson added: "Young Lloyd was a bit shocked when I told him, but he went out and showed what a good player he can become. All credit to him."
