David Wagner reckons Huddersfield Town fans got a glimpse of the real Rajiv van La Parra against Hull City.

And he has challenged the Dutch winger to build on a bright home debut in the 2-2 Championship draw.

The 24-year-old has joined on loan from Wolves ahead of a permanent £750,000 summer switch.

Ex-Heerenveen player Van La Parra struggled on his debut at Leeds United.

And his second outing was a cameo appearance from the bench at Middlesbrough last Tuesday.

Van La Parra was named man of the match against Hull and was given a great ovation when brought off after 72 minutes.

“Rajiv produced a very good performance,” said Wagner.

“We have to build up his fitness to give him more power.

“But he is more and more getting our idea and he is an interesting player in our style.

“I think people can see better why we did this transfer and it was great that he was given such a warm welcome by our supporters.

“I am very happy he showed his potential.

“We need more over the next five games, he must use this time to develop further.”
