Huddersfield Town winger Danny Ward is a loan target for this weekend's opponents Blackpool, according to a report in the Blackpool Gazette.

Ward, who has made seven appearances in all competitions so far this season, was reportedly the subject of a deadline-day bid from the Seasiders only for the move to break down over personal terms.

That has not deterred Jose Riga in his pursuit of the wideman, however, and Pool are now reviving their interest in a player who has started just once under new manager Chris Powell.

The report adds that a deal is unlikely before the weekend however, when resurgent Pool travel to the John Smith's Stadium to face Town as the Championship campaign resumes.

It also states that Ward was one of three names identified in a meeting between manager Riga and chairman Karl Oyston, with the shortlist also believed to include an overseas striker and a central defender.
