When the Championship teams are ranked by the number of fouls they commit per game the Terriers are snapping at the heels of the play-off places.

Town have been pulled up for 350 fouls this season, an average of 11.7 a game according to figures provided by Opta.

That puts them above their old rivals Leeds though who come out as the joint sixth cleanest side in the Championship. They've been pulled up for 314 fouls this season, an average of 10.5 a game.

Sheffield Wednesday have been the biggest foulers in the Championship this season.

The Owls have been pulled up for 403 fouls in league games to date, an average of 13.4 a game, according to figures provided by Opta.

That's more in total and more per game than any other side in the division.

Bolton are the league's next biggest foulers with 384 so far this season, an average of 12.8 a game.

Charlton's players have been pulled up for 367 fouls this season and QPR's for 360.

Blackburn have conceded 330 fouls this season, which is fewer than some other Championship clubs but they've only played 28 games. It means that they've committed 11.8 fouls a match, the joint fifth highest per game in the league.

Rotherham join Rovers in fifth place on 11.8 fouls per match but have conceded 353 in total.

Fulham have conceded fewer fouls than any other side in the Championship this season. The Cottagers have been pulled up for just 272 to date, an average of just 9.4 a game - the fewest in total and the fewest per game.

Wolves have been pulled up for 304 fouls (10.1 a game), Derby 305 fouls (10.2 a game), Hull 298 (10.3 a game) and Burnley 309 fouls (10.3 a game).

These figures class a foul as any infringement that is penalised as foul play by a referee. Fouls that go unpunished therefore won't be counted.
