What did you make of Huddersfield Town's performance in the 2-1 home win over in-form Brentford?

The Terriers took a first-half lead through Sean Scannell after 18 minutes and never looked like relinquishing their advantage, particularly when Scannell forced Bees left-back Jake Bidwell to put through his own net.

The visitors - looking for a club-record sixth consecutive league win at this level - came on strong late on and pulled one back through experienced midfielder Jonathan Douglas but they were unable to force an equaliser to keep their run going.

Excellent game from both sides. Town midfield's best game as a unit this season and it had to be against a decent team. Scannell top marks again along with Smithies and Hogg. Wallace's best game for Town but still a bit unsure about Smith, looks out of position too often. - Danny, Outlane.

A much-improved showing. We pressed well in midfield and looked a force going forward. Our failure to kill the game off with a third goal made for a nervous end to the match but it was an encouraging start to a vital part of the season. - Michael, Garforth.

Solid all-round team performance with guts and determination. Hogg was instrumental and strong displays from Smithies, after recent criticism and Scannell, who was productive yet again. Wells looks to be low on confidence and after failing to convert some good opportunities which fortunately didn't prove costly. A more positive attacking formation against a decent quick Brentford outfit. Well done Town. - Chief, Shelley.

Defence, Smithies and Hogg absolutely outstanding today against the division's in-form team aiming for its sixth consecutive win, and they had to be especially in the last 10 when they threw everything at us. - William, Huddersfield.

A great team effort - special praise for Smithies, Robinson and Scannell. Just need Nahki to find his scoring boots and I think we'll be looking up the league rather than down. - Alison, Thurstonland.

Excellent team display from Town. With Holt returning and Nahki misfiring badly we are going to be desperately short up front. Am sure Powell will make a couple of strikers a top priority in transfer window. - Graham, Brighouse.

Town played well. Smithies was fantastic, but his great shot stopping still can't take away from the fact he needs to be more dominant on crosses and take more pressure from the team by claiming a few crosses in games. Overall though my MOM on Saturday. - Dan, Lindley.

We had to defend for our lives towards the end of the game as Brentford threw everything but the kitchen sink at us. But I knew we would hold on and bag three precious points, as the players knew how important it was to bounce back from the disappointing result at Bolton. - Chris, Dalton.
