What did Huddersfield Town fans make of the performance in the 4-1 defeat at Brentford ?

The Terriers got off to a nightmare start as Everton loanee Chris Long turned Murray Wallace and fired in at Alex Smithies' near post, but Town levelled against the run of play when James Vaughan fed Harry Bunn on the left, who skipped past Moses Odubajo and fired into the far corner.

But Chris Powell's side collapsed after the break as Long netted his second from a Jota pull-back, before goals from Alex Pritchard and Jon Toral, on loan from North London duo Tottenham and Arsenal respectively, rounded things off.

Right up there as one of the worst Town displays I've seen in years. I thought they were poor at Charlton but Brentford demonstrated just what a gulf there is between a decent Championship side and the likes of Town. Brentford were sharper & quicker throughout. Town's defending was woeful. What on earth was the game plan? Even the normally enthusiastic Vaughan wandered around up front; I don't think he won a ball in the air all evening.Simon, Beckenham.

What a shambles! The change in formation offered few positives as Brentford dominated even more emphatically than Charlton had on Saturday. Smithies prevented a three-goal deficit before I'd even finished my pie and our new recruits are just as static and as incapable of passing accurately as too many of the rest of the team. Worrying times - what's betting our ex-players excel for Rotherham next Saturday.Philip, London.

Very poor again. Harry Bunn is a great asset but Scannell has lost his edge and Edgar is a poor signing. Brentford are a very good side and played for one another but Town used to be like that with very hard work. Mr Powell could learn a lot from Mr Warburton. Massive improvement is needed and quickly. Two games, goals for one goals against seven isn't anywhere near good enough in any league.Richard, Kirkburton.

Same slow defence, same timorous negative approach - same result as lots and lots this season - conceding goals for fun. Powell claims we're inconsistent, but we've actually been very consistent since the first match this season. Depressing.Liz, Birkby.

I always blame the midfield and have done for a few seasons, the midfield is the engine of any team. If they don't work, the team fails. This is again true. No fight in this area causing pressure on the defence and nothing for the attack. Midfield is our weakest link, we need better quality players or at least a change, instead of same old same old.David, Brighouse.

Powell needs to take a long hard look at our players, some are just not showing anything for the club, the fans can only take so much humiliation, the annoying thing is, this team can beat any in the division when they step up to the mark, it's time for the fat lady to sing.David, Wyke.

Another miserable result and fully deserved. Town have got to bring in some quality loan players, but Hoyle won't do that. As far as he is concerned, the season is over and mid table looks the best we can achieve. Next season we need a striker, midfield general, right back, left back and centre half. These are the minimum requirements. We then require some decent loan signings from the Prem.Stephen, Puerto Santiago.

A poor defensive display. I think that's sixty goals conceded now. We give goals away in the last ten minutes of most games. This has cost us a lot of points this season. Please can we leave Edgar out of the team. We need to freshen up the squad urgently. It's now a six pointer against Rotherham.Arthur, Shepley.

Lacking guts, fight, organisation, pace, invention, passion, togetherness, leadership. Brentford had all of those qualities in abundance - and this a team with no star names, just an honest bunch of players playing for each other. Roll on the end of season - clear out the deadwood and start again. If Miller and Edgar are the best signings we can make, God help us.Peter, Wiltshire.
