Huddersfield Town can expect an upturn of form going into the new year, history suggests.

Since the Premier League formed in 1992, Huddersfield have secured an average win ratio of 36 per cent from their December league games, according to the Trinity Mirror Data Unit.

But in January over the last 22 season, that figure has gone up to 40% - a season high for Town.

The Terriers will be hoping that holds true this season with potentially tricky fixtures against Watford, Middlesbrough and Wigan Athletic plus the small matter of a West Yorkshire derby at home to Leeds United all lined up in the new year.

However, come February, Town's form usually takes a turn for the worse.

The Terriers average a win ratio of just 33% in February, although that does pick up to 43% in March and 45% in April - the highest percentage of the season.
