ROGER EAST will complete a busy season when he takes charge of Town’s Wembley clash with Sheffield United on Saturday.

It’s a 45th appointment for the experienced Hampshire whistler, who works as a sales director for a sawmill and has been on the League list since 2006 after serving as an assistant referee.

East’s last Town game was the 2-0 defeat at Charlton in November while he was in the middle when Sheffield United won 2-0 at Bournemouth the following month.

East, an assistant referee at the 2004 FA Cup final (Manchester United v Millwall at Cardiff) and 2006 FA Community Shield (Liverpool v Chelsea, also at the Millennium Stadium) has issued 121 yellow cards and six reds this season.

His assistants will be Harry Lennard (East Sussex) and Matthew Wilkes (West Midlands).

Fourth official is Danny McDermidd, from Hampshire, with Buckinghamshire’s Mark Scholes the reserve.

South Yorkshire’s Craig Pawson will referee Sunday’s League II play-off final between Cheltenham and Crewe at Wembley.
