JORDAN RHODES' fifth-minute goal earned Town a valuable victory.

The top scorer, who fired home his 18th goal of the season from Benik Afobe's flick-on, wouldn't have been in the starting side had it not been for the last-minute withdrawal of Gary Roberts through illness.

While Joey Gudjonsson hit a post in the 12th minute, Rhodes also miised a 54th-minute penalty after a handball by Danny Coles.

Meanwhile Rovers had two goals disallowed as they piled on the pressure in the closing stages.
