Huddersfield Town have loaned young centre-back William Boyle to York City for a second time.

The 20-year-old academy product made six appearances for the League II strugglers earlier this season.

His seventh could come in the crunch home clash with Luton Town.

York go into the game in the drop zone on goal difference and desperate for only a seventh victory of the campaign.

Jackie McNamara’s side lost 2-1 at home to leaders Northampton Town on Tuesday.

Boyle’s loan will run until the end of the season, taking in 14 matches, although a Town recall option will kick in after 28 days.

He made his second Town appearance as a late substitute in the 2-1 Championship defeat at Preston North End earlier this month.

His first was also from the bench, in the 3-0 home win over Reading a year ago.

Boyle, who has skippered Town’s Under 21 team, has had previous loans at Macclesfield Town and Kidderminster Harriers.
