When popping down to your local pizza place, you’re unlikely to see Huddersfield Town captain Mark Hudson’s face staring back.
But you never know...
Hudson told the Examiner that Town are the best footballing side he’s ever played in - even though he earned promotion to the Premier League with Cardiff City and Crystal Palace.
Yet he clearly made quite the impression at Cardiff, prompting a local food artist to depict the defender’s face in pizza.
Nathan Wyburn, who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2011 and created marmite-on-toast portraits of Simon Cowell, turned his talents to the-then Cardiff skipper to celebrate the Bluebirds’ promotion to the Premier League in 2013.
And he also created likenesses of manager Malky Mackay and owner Vincent Tan.
On seeing his creations, Hudson said; “The pizzas look amazing. The likeness of the three of us is brilliant. I can’t believe Nathan has created them just out of toppings. He’s a talented guy.”
Hudson is out of contract at Town in the summer, but has revealed he is in discussions about an extension.
