NEILL COLLINS says there is no way Sheffield United have written off Town’s challenge for automatic promotion.

The centre-back whose goal sunk the Galpharm side in Lee Clark’s final match as manager on Tuesday will be back in action for the Blades at home to Preston tomorrow.

Collins reckons second- placed United can still catch Charlton, who are eight points clear at the top ahead of tomorrow’s game at Tranmere, but he’s also looking below as United’s arch-rivals Sheffield Wednesday, Town, MK Dons and Stevenage lead the posse of chasing clubs.

While Town sit out the next round of games because scheduled opponents Stevenage are in FA Cup action against Tottenham on Sunday, Wednesday aim to snap a run of two successive league defeats in their lunchtime derby at Chesterfield while MK are at home to Oldham.

“It’s a nice position for us to be in but to look at the table right now is premature,” said Collins, a League I promotion winner with Leeds in 2010.

“I’ve been here before and nothing is done and dusted at this stage. Huddersfield will have gone away from our game with plenty of positives in their mind even though we beat them.”
