Huddersfield Town wants fans to pump up the volume at the home derby against Barnsley a fortnight today.

After supporters put forward the idea at a recent ‘All Together Town’ meeting, the club will trial a behind-the-goal singing section in the Fantastic Media Stand lower tier.

That area of the ground will become open access with seating unreserved and capacity set at 1,750 and the experiment will be repeated for the home game against Bolton on April 5.

Season-card holders can transfer to that section of the ground if they wish (enter via turnstiles 41-43), while those who normally sit there but want to move to another area can do (families are advised by the club to transfer to the FM Stand upper tier family area).

The club will contact FM lower tier season-card holders via e-mail and telephone to discuss their options.

Those wishing to remain in that section should enter via turnstile 40 but will not be guaranteed their normal seat.

The normal rules regarding persistent standing and banners still apply.

For non-season-card holders, tickets will be £15 adults and £10 concessions and must be bought in advance of matchday (there will be no pay on the day).

Town chairman Dean Hoyle said: “We have listened to the wishes of supporters through the ‘All Together Town’ panels and surveys and, after consultation with KSDL and the relevant parties, we’ve agreed to this trial.

“The gauntlet is now thrown down to the fans to show us they want this end and that it can make a big difference to the matchday atmosphere. I hope lots of fans get in early and make some noise.”
