DON'T drop your standards!

That will be the message from manager Peter Jackson tomorrow as Town go into battle against in-form Oldham at Boundary Park (3.00).

Jackson is keen to build on Wednesday's 2-1 success at Swindon and may again operate the `one striker' system against Brian Talbot's side which reaped a point down at Colchester and three more at the County Ground.

"Some people might think it's defensive, but I don't see it that way," said Jackson, who is forced into at least one change because Lee Fowler starts a three-match ban.

"We looked sharp and dangerous every time we got the ball and if we play with the same energy, with Chris Brandon and Jon Worthington going forward positively once again, then I'll be perfectly happy tomorrow.

"I thought Brandon had his best game for the club against Swindon, he finished his goal really well, seemed to everywhere on the pitch and I'll be looking for similar tomorrow. But that goes for all the lads.

"The key after a performance like that is to maintain the standards which have been set.

"Oldham are in great form, scoring plenty of goals, and they've won eight of their last nine games, but if we produce a performance like we did on Wednesday night then I won't be wary of taking them on - no way."

Jackson concedes loan signings Lee Croft, Mark Hughes and Neil Kilkenny have given Oldham a huge lift, with extra pace and midfield trickery, but he believes the outcome is entirely down to how Town play.

"It's a shame I've got to make a change because of Fowler's ban, but I've got one or two options," added Jackson, who hopes Akpo Sodje can return in the Reserves at Halifax on Monday (2.00).

It's all pay for Town fans with capacity for 4,600.
