BOSS Simon Grayson has not ruled out further loan business as Huddersfield Town chase vital promotion points against bottom club Chesterfield tonight.

With the loan deadline just 48 hours away, Grayson did not dismiss movement in or out of the Galpharm squad.

Priority, of course, is tonight’s clash at the b2net Stadium and the opportunity to put pressure on their promotion rivals with a win, but Grayson is mindful of a run-in which includes leaders Charlton’s visit to the Galpharm on Saturday.

“Loan moves are a possibility,” he said. “We would like to bring one or two in – if the players we want are available. If not then we have certainly got a squad capable of getting promoted.

“We might also let one or two go out as we have had some inquiries for players.

“It might be better for some lads to have first-team football elsewhere rather than being in our squad and travelling but not getting games.”

Chesterfield face Town before taking on Swindon at Wembley on Sunday in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final. Grayson does not believe their boss, John Sheridan, will let them be distracted from the main job of avoiding relegation.

“I know John really well and he wants his team to play the right way and pass the ball around, but they are fighting for their lives at the moment,” said Grayson.

“They will be looking to win as many games as possible to try and get themselves out of the bottom four.

“ I know John feels they have been playing well and not getting the rewards they should, so we know they are going to be tough.”

Town are unlikely to make radical changes after the 1-1 draw at Colchester, with Grayson again likely to have loan signing from Stoke, Diego Arismendi, on the bench.

Skipper Peter Clarke is ready to lead Town again after making his return at the Weston Homes Community Stadium after eight games out.
