MANAGER Paul Quinn is urging the people of Brighouse to get behind his promotion-chasing football team.

Brighouse Town top the Baris Northern Counties East League going into tomorrow’s home clash with Lincoln Moorlands Railway (3.00).

And Quinn – who has ambitions of leading the club into the Evo-Stik (Northern Premier) League – says fans can play a big role over the remainder of the season.

“With just seven games, three of them at home, to go, we are in a great position,” said Quinn, whose side have a one-point lead over Scarborough Athletic.

“It is crucial we get as many people supporting the team as possible at this time. We need every bit of encouragement we can get from the local community to help us finish with as many league points as possible.”

The former Huddersfield Works and West Riding County Amateur League club have been making improvements to their Dual Seal Stadium ground.

And Quinn continued: “We’d love local people to come and have a look at what we’ve been doing.

“A huge amount of work has taken place both on and off the field and it would be great to see a positive trend in attendances as a result.

“We had a magnificent response to our appeal for support in meeting the costs of our FA Vase trip to the Isle of Wight and we are hoping the local community can also be inspired by our chances of promotion.”

FC Halifax Town host Brackley Town in a Blue Square North clash (3.00). The league game at home to Corby Town has been rearranged for Thursday, April 11 (7.45).
