SYNGENTA Sports won the battle of the 'Big Two!'

In the league equivalent of Manchester United v Chelsea, they emerged victorious from their duel with Warren House.

The game was keenly anticipated, as both sides are being tipped by many as favourites for the championship.

Warren House boasted a 100% record going into the game but Syngenta have probably the best league record of any club in recent years and have hit top form so far this season.

It is also a match with a little bit of needle involved, with both sides keen to get one over on their closest rivals.

The scoreline of Warren House 5 Syngenta Sports 7 suggests a much closer game that we actually got.

Visitors Syngenta were well on top for much of the game and were 7-1 up at one point before a late fightback by the home side made the scoreline more respectable.

The game was well refereed by experienced Neil Pickles.

Syngenta coach Harry Wood was delighted with his side's top-quality performance.

"We were really up for the game and went at them from the kick-off.

"I had a very good side out and we did play some excellent football."

Syngenta's prolific strikers were again very much in evidence.

Robert Hiscox grabbed a hat trick and Ashley Flynn hit a goal.

There were also celebrations for the Bradshaws, with the experienced Charlie getting two and his son Lee adding another goal.

The three-point haul wasn't enough to lift Syngenta back to the top of the league, however.

They trail Uppermill by three points but have two games in hand, with Warren House four points further behind.

Uppermill were in excellent form at Kirkburton.

They won 4-1, after going ahead in the fifth minute.

Kirkburton battled hard and went close to equalising through Andrew Dunstan and Dave Waite before the visitors grabbed a second.

In the second half Kirkburton keeper Sheppard pulled off a fine penalty save to keep his side in the game.

Dunstan then grabbed his 13th goal of the season to raise home hopes but Uppermill finished strongly with two excellent goals.

Moldgreen Con hit form with an excellent 6-0 win at Crosland Moor.

Tony Morgan scored twice and there were also goals for Gill (2), Boyes and Forshaw.
