TOWN today quickly ordered thousands of flags, scarves and T-shirts to send the fans to Cardiff in style.

Retail manager Michele Adamson intends to have club souvenirs on sale for the Millennium Stadium by late tomorrow or Saturday.

Chief executive Andrew Watson explained: "Our club suppliers have started work already on all manner of T-shirts, mugs, scarves, flags and the like and we should be taking delivery of the first batch sometime tomorrow with the aim of getting them on sale as soon as possible.

"We have just been waiting to press the button on merchandising and the Stadium Superstore here at the McAlpine will be open from 8am to 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday, in common with the ticket office and the commercial department."

Watson has commercial experience of finals from going to Wembley with Leeds Rugby League Club in 1994 and Everton for the FA Cup final the following year, when his club were the winners.

"I've been dusting down the files for the last fortnight and we've got a big operation to cater for our fans and all their needs for the final," he said.

"In addition to souvenirs, we will be organising travel for supporters and they will also be able to book a terrific executive package with us.

"This includes four-star overnight accommodation on the Sunday at the Angel Hotel, which is within walking distance of the Millennium Stadium.

"The price of £235 (it is £215 for concessions) includes executive coach travel, dinner on the Sunday, breakfast the following morning and an excellent lunch before the game.

"Our executive travellers will then have the best seats in the stadium, a free match programme for the final and then their comfortable travel home."

Places should be reserved by contacting Tracy Nelson or Lisa Devine in the commercial department on 01484-484140. Alternatively, requirements can be faxed to 01484-484101.
