PETER JACKSON today launched Town's build-up to the play-off final by paying tribute to the "special kids" who will be at the heart of his big-day line-up next Monday.

Back on the training ground after a few days relaxing at a Lancashire golf resort, Jackson is delighted the club have already sold more than 15,000 tickets for the final against Mansfield at the Millennium.

It will lift the squad, too, and Jackson knows two of them, Andy Holdsworth and Anthony Lloyd, will have key jobs in marshalling Mansfield wingmen Wayne Corden and Liam Lawrence respectively.

"Andy Holdsworth has been in outstanding form, Lloydy has never let me down and they are key players in making our system work," said Jackson, who reported a relaxing and enjoyable break.

"Andy did terrifically well in both legs against Lincoln, he can play right-back or midfield and I certainly wouldn't be frightened of playing him up front either if it came to it at any stage in the future.

"Those two lads probably sum up the way the club is at the moment because they work hard, want to do well for themselves and love playing for Huddersfield Town.

"The only problem we've got is keeping them apart.

"They live in the same place, travel together and are never more than two yards apart except when they're out on the pitch!

"When you think we've got those two, Dave Mirfin, John McAliskey and then the likes of Worthy, Pav, Fowler and Clarke who are not much older, they are special kids and ones who will give their all for the Town cause."

Clarke, in fact, was today ready to rejoin the full squad in training after stepping up his recovery from ankle surgery.

It may be too late for him to be considered for the final, but he was among the 24-man squad which spent the weekend `chilling out'.

"This is the most important week of our season and, while there will be a lot of press and media attention in the build-up, it's important the lads are focused from this point onwards," said Jackson.

"We don't want to be runners up, that would be a horrible feeling, so we need to make sure we don't get carried away this week."
