TOWN Ladies tackle Guiseley at AFC Emley’s Welfare Ground on Sunday still reeling from a fightback which cost them two points in their last match.

That was at home to Darlington, when Kate Mallin and Jo Atkinson put Town firmly in command by half time.

Town, with Emily Husband in top form, looked strong in the second half until 18 minutes from time, when keeper Laura Carter was unsighted for a shot which crept inside a post.

Sarah Kennerdale and Mallin both had good chances to restore Town’s lead but, five minutes from time, Darlington grabbed a point from a corner.

Town’s Under 14s beat Altofts 4-1 with goals from Abigail Connell, Shauna Messenger, Heather Haigh and Jessica Freeman.

The Under 12s drew 2-2 with York City, Rebecca Moore scoring the first and Sara Hurley having a dangerous cross deflected in for the second.

York hit back with two late goals to take the edge off a player-of-the-match display from Alice Linsell in midfield.

They are now away to Brighouse Juniors in the League Cup.
