TOWN'S match at Torquay on October 9 was today confirmed as a 1pm kick-off.
The switch has been made to avoid a clash with England's World Cup qualifier against Wales on the same day at Old Trafford which kicks-off at 3pm.
It means a very early start for Town fans intending to travel to Plainmoor on the day, and the club's chief executive Andrew Watson explained:
"We are unhappy about this but it's been sanctioned by the League.
"Torquay strongly wanted to move the kick-off and, if we'd have been at home, we would probably have wanted to do the same.
"It's crazy that England should be playing at the same time as a full League programme, but we didn't feel Friday night at Torquay was an option for our team or fans and we didn't really believe Sunday was either.
"A 1pm kick-off on the Saturday just means an early start on the day of the game and, for those going down for the weekend, it won't make any difference at all."
Meanwhile, experienced trio Pawel Abbott, Danny Schofield and Steve Yates were left out of the Reserves today.
All three would normally have played in the Pontin's League opener against York City at the Galpharm (2.00) having missed the first-team starting line-up on Monday.
But manager Peter Jackson explained: "We've got two massive games coming up against Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds and I don't want to risk any injuries.
"Pav, Danny and Steve could all have done with a run-out in the Reserves, but they worked very hard in a sessionafter the Hartlepool game and that's good enough for me."
John McAliskey led the Reserves attack alongside Joe Shaw. Nat Brown and Anthony Lloyd were also in the line-up.
For Town's home game against Hull City on Sunday, September 5, the John Smith's Stand will be all-ticket (buy beforehand if possible).
Tickets for Saturday's game are available from Town until 5pm on Friday. They will be on sale at Hillsborough but £1 dearer.
Tickets for the Bank Holiday trip to Doncaster went on sale to season-ticket holders only today.
