TOWN confidently expect their biggest crowd of the season when Hull City visit the Galpharm on Sunday.

Even though Peter Jackson's side suffered a dismal 2-1 defeat at Doncaster on Monday, Town are hoping for a 10,000-strong home contingent for the noon derby kick-off.

Hull City have already sold more than 2,500 tickets and expect a following of up to 3,500 for an eagerly-awaited Coca-Cola League I clash.

"There should be a really cracking atmosphere and we'll be looking to match it with our performance," said Jackson, whose team attracted 11,942 for the match against Chesterfield last month.

"I know everyone is disappointed about the defeat at Doncaster - nobody more so than me - but it's vital we have our usual full and noisy backing on Sunday and that everyone sticks behind the lads.

"It's a big game and, if we can take the three points, that will be a massive lift for all concerned."

Tricky frontman Danny Schofield has returned to training with Town and is pushing for a call-up against a Hull side deprived of dangerous goalscorer Stuart Elliott, who is on duty with Northern Ireland against Poland.

The 24-year-old Schofield suffered an injury to his right ankle in the Reserves at Doncaster on Wednesday which kept him out of the full squad session at Storthes Hall yesterday.

Schofield, who lost his place to Chris Brandon after the first two matches of the season, is working hard to get back in and is one of a number of players under consideration by Jackson.

Striker John McAliskey was also back in training today after illness.

Fans are reminded the John Smith's Kilner Bank - including Town's `Singing Section' - is all-ticket for Sunday's match.
