STADIUM chiefs are showing team spirit with a new venture.

Huddersfield Town, the Giants and Galpharm Stadium bosses have signed a new deal to bring their businesses closer together.

They have joined forces with marketing and design agency Atom UK to create a joint brand known as The Sporting Pride of Huddersfield.

The brand will be used by the stadium and both clubs on items such as match programmes, fixture lists and other material including brochures and other promotional literature.

The deal will also mean setting up an on-line shop for fans of the Terriers and the Giants to buy club merchandise via the internet.

There will also be a new Giants website.

Galpharm Stadium chief executive Ralph Rimmer hailed the development of the new brand as a "significant step" for the stadium and the clubs.

He added: "We believe that this partnership will be beneficial for all concerned."

Atom UK, based at the Media Centre, Northumberland Street, has a strong track record working with sports organisations.

The company worked on projects for the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games and at Bolton's Reebok Stadium.

It also carried out a project to co-ordinate marketing for rugby clubs Leeds Rhinos and Leeds Tykes and Headingley Stadium.

Town chief executive Andrew Watson said:

"It is our aim to try and provide our supporters with the very best products and services and as part of this the co-ordination of our brand is a vital component."

Atom marketing manager Matthew Courtney, Marketing Manager, said:

"We are very pleased to have this opportunity to work in partnership to deliver the marketing for the Sporting Pride of Huddersfield."
