GARETH AINSWORTH has warned Town that Wycombe will be a different proposition to the side walloped 6-0 at the Galpharm back in November – and Lee Clark agrees.

Town head to Adams Park tomorrow hungry for the second successive away win which would keep their League I play-off bid on the boil.

But both the manager and survival-chasing opponent Ainsworth say they’ll have to be ready for a scrap.

The former Port Vale and QPR midfielder is one of a string of signings made by Gary Waddock since Wycombe crumbled in front of the Sky cameras in Yorkshire.

And he told Town: “We owe you one. This is a new Wycombe and there’s new impetus in the squad. It’s a different mental attitude.”

While second-bottom Wycombe have just two wins in 18 games, they’ve lost only two in 11, and Clark pointed out: “Gary Waddock is starting to put his stamp on things and he’s made them hard to beat.

“They showed character in forcing a draw at Colchester and will want to build on it.”

The return of midfielder Antony Kay following the illness which kept him out of last Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Charlton and on-loan Liverpool striker Nathan Eccleston after a three-match ban is a boost for Clark, who added: “It gives me options.

“Nathan looked hungry when we gave him an hour in the reserves on Wednesday.”

Town’s initial season-ticket saver offer ends at 5.00 today.

With a one-day record 836 sold yesterday, the overall total is 5,215.
