Jordi Hiwula is the latest name being linked to Huddersfield Town.

The 20-year-old Manchester City striker made his mark during a loan spell at Walsall last season.

He notched nine goals in 20 games for the League I side.

That was after scoring 20 times in 31 outings for City’s Under 21s the campaign before.

The Manchester-born frontman, who has bounced back after suffering a knee injury during the 2012-13 season, has played for England at Under 18 and 19 level.

Hiwula, who has been working under former Arsenal ace Patrick Vieira at City, is under contract until 2016.

When he signed a new deal a year ago, City’s academy chief Mark Allen said: “Jordi has shown great dedication to come back from injury and the way he has performed and the desire he has shown has been a credit to him.

“He has shown himself to have an unbelievable attitude right through the whole academy system.

“For me he’s a model professional because he listens and does all he possibly can to get the most out of himself.”

Having been with City for a decade, Hiwula is well known to Town coaching duo Steve Eyre and Frankie Bunn.

Boss Chris Powell is keen to add to his frontline players Nahki Wells, James Vaughan and Ishmael Miller.
