TOWN and Arsenal will be playing for the Herbert Chapman Trophy when they meet at the Galpharm on Wednesday, August 6.

Tickets for the centenary match, which will kick-off at 7.00 and be Town’s final friendly before the new season starts the following Saturday, are now on sale (£15 adults, £10 seniors and students and £5 juniors).

Chapman, of course, created the famed triple-title winning team at both clubs, although he didn’t actually complete the hat trick at either.

He left Town for Arsenal after their second triumph (in 1925) and died, aged 55 of pneumonia in January 1934, midway through the second of their successive title seasons.

Arsenal are to mark Town’s centenary by presenting them with an exact replica of their famous bust of Chapman.
