TOWN defender Andy Taylor could be playing in Europe next season!

That's after the loan defender's club Blackburn confirmed they will enter the Intertoto Cup if they do not qualify for Europe automatically.

Mid-table Rovers' UEFA Cup exit to Leverkusen leaves them to seek qualification through their Premiership position for a second season in a row.

But Blackburn boss is Mark Hughes is eyeing the Intertoto as a failsafe.

"More clubs see it as a decent option. They changed the format and it's a more attractive competition," he said.

The Intertoto is the kind of tournament in which Hughes might be tempted to give a younger player like Taylor, 20, a run.

His initial month at Town ends after Saturday's trip to Nottingham Forest.

Town chief Peter Jackson has said he is keen to extend the agreement.
