David Wagner says he will work to improve his players' fitness levels after suffering a 3-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday in his first match
as Huddersfield Town head coach.

Town led through Sean Scannell before the home side hit back with two goals in three minutes through Lucas Joao and Kieran Lee. Joao, a half-time substitute, sealed it with his second in stoppage-time, and Wagner said: "It was fair they won, but maybe by a goal too many."

The German added: "The last 20 minutes, they were stronger than we were, but we will work hard to make sure we get fitter.

"It was an exciting game and we got what we expected, some up and downs. The first 45 minutes was okay, we were strong in defence and their crowd was quiet.

"We scored a very good goal. After losing the ball, we won it back, there was a good centre from Kyle Dempsey and nice finishing from Sean
Scannell.

"After this the game got a little bit more speed. Emyr Huws had a good chance to score a second, but we couldn't take it, then they equalised and got stronger."
