Walsall want Huddersfield Town striker Jordy Hiwula.

The 21-year-old former Manchester City player scored three goals in 16 games on loan to the League I club in the season just finished.

Town have said they will listen to offers for a player who cost them £150,000 a year ago but has made just one appearance as a substitute.

And boss Whitney, a former Town player, said: “I would really like to do something.

“But he is one who might be looking to play in the Championship. We will see what happens.”

Hiwula is under contract at Town until 2018 with a further year’s option in the club’s favour.

He was loaned out to Wigan Athletic, netting six times in 16 games, before his Walsall stint.
