THEY believe they can make it third time lucky.

Warren House, who have finished runners-up in the League for the

past two seasons, want the title this year. And they are well on their way.

Their hard-earned victory at Sovereign Sports last weekend leaves

them as the only team in the league still with a 100% record. They are currently third, behind Syngenta Sports and Uppermill, but

have a game in hand. "We believe we can be there or thereabouts" said club secretary

Robin Vickerman. "We have finished second in each of the last two seasons and won the

Hoyle Cup, but we know we are capable of winning the championship. "We have won every game so far and we have been well on top for many

of those games. "Sovereign are a very good side but we did let them back into the

game with mistakes. We are getting stronger all the time and I hope we can keep it up this season." Warren House have strengthened in the close season, with new

signings Craig Mitchell, Dave Murphy amd Ben Connelly playing a vital part. Wayne Reynolds has returned to the club and of course they still

boast the league's most prolific striker in Wayne Carter. He took his tally for the season to 17 in just six matches with a

hat trick in Saturday's match and is well on the way to chasing last year's amazing tally of 70 goals. Warren House's other strikes came from a stunning Luke Haigh

free-kick and an own goal. Sovereign battled hard, particularly in the second half, and had

Noel, Smith, Joseph and Morgan on the scoresheet. Syngenta, who still head the table, dropped points to a determined

Clothiers Arms. The Holme Valley side ended Syngenta's 100% record with a fine 2-2

draw, with Barnes and Carpenter getting their goals. And there was also a shock for second-placed Uppermill.

They travelled to Lindley Lib and went down 2-1 - their first

defeat. Lindley's goals came from Brook (2).
