Huddersfield Town players were forced to wait to complete the traditional lap of appreciation while the pitch was cleared of supporters.

Ignoring the pleas to stay off the field of play, fans used the opportunity to take a few steps on the turf, and perhaps snap a keep sake.

With David Wagner also wanting to speak to his players following the 5-1 defeat to Brentford , which left the summer recruitment taking on a more crucial look, it led to a delay in the players returning to the pitch to show their appreciation to the supporters and vice versa.

It ended with a whimper - nine goals conceded and one scored across the final two games with Bristol City and Brentford.

But with the right signings ahead of next term, and the inspirational Wagner at the helm, there is still plenty of cause for optimism for what lies ahead.
