Huddersfield Town's U21 side sealed their place in the Professional Development League 2 Play-off final with a 5-3 extra time victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park .

Town were pegged back on three separate occasions in an eight-goal thriller, but got the ball rolling through Jack Boyle inside seven minutes with the first-year academy scholar slamming a powerful free-kick in from just outside the area, only for Kyle De Silva to level just before the interval.

In an action-packed second half, Sondre Tronstad and De Silva traded goals before it looked as if Town would secure their final berth when Duane Holmes crashed home from close range with just five minutes left, but substitute Sullay KaiKai made it three apiece to force extra time.

But it was Town who prevailed in the extra 30 minutes as Jake Charles netted a brace, his second on the break from a Palace corner with goalkeeper Chris Kettings stranded upfield - to book a final date against either Nottingham Forest or Swansea City, who face off tonight.
