Huddersfield Town secured a first away win in three months with the 1-0 success at Wigan Athletic, courtesy of a late Conor Coady winner.

Town edged a scrappy contest in terms of chances created but Nahki Wells spurned their best openings during the first period, while captain Mark Hudson saw a header cleared off the line.

James McClean went closest for the Latics early on, with Callum McManaman and Jacob Butterfield trading the best opportunitiies of the second half before Coady struck.

The midfielder picked up the ball on the left wing and curled an intended cross into the far top corner past Scott Carson to move Town up to 15th and some 11 points away from relegation trouble.
