Conor Coady insists Huddersfield Town can cut out the concentration lapses which almost let Blackpool back into a game which looked beyond them after half an hour.

Having carved out a three-goal lead after 16 minutes, the home side went in at half-time just 3-2 to the good.

“For the first 30 minutes, I thought we were fantastic,” said the former Liverpool midfielder.

“We came out of the blocks looking really sharp and got the three goals. To be fair, it could have been four or five, because attacking wise we were superb.

“We had been keeping it tight at the back too, but we dropped out concentration levels and let them back in. But we will learn from our mistakes and learn to go for the full 90 minutes.”

Coady continued: “I think we realised at half-time just what we had to do in the second half.

“We took the sting out of them and the fourth goal knocked the wind out of their sails.

“It was a great win, and a big team effort. We are all in this together, and the whole club wants to move forward.

“The lads have taken to the manager, and we now need to keep going and knock out the mistakes.”

Town, 17th in the Championship, have another home clash against Brighton tomorrow, with the Seagulls 20th.

They were beaten 2-1 at home to Middlesbrough on Saturday and haven’t won in nine league games.

But Coady insisted: “They have been in the play-offs for the last two seasons and we won’t be looking at their league position.

“I think they’ll be higher by the end of the season. We have watched some of their games, and we know they pose a threat to us.

“But we have a great chance to make it three home wins on the spin and that’s what we’ll be aiming for.”
