ANDY BOOTH today savoured Town's run-in for promotion and promised: "We can pip our rivals!"

The striker's fifth career hat trick helped floor Rotherham 4-1 and kept Town third with a trip to mid-table Port Vale to come.

Brentford and Colchester, who both play away from home tomorrow, have two games in hand but Booth countered: "There's no reason why we can't get in the top two - we've just got to keep winning.

"Brentford and Colchester are possibly favourites, but the pressure is on them to win their games in hand. If we can put a few wins together like we did last season then we'll be in with a great shout."

Booth delighted the biggest League I crowd of the day (15,264) with his first hat trick since October 2001 at Northampton.

"To get one was a relief because I hadn't scored for a while, but to get three was fantastic," said Booth, who took home the match ball.

"Andy Holdsworth put in two great crosses - the first was my best header - but the most important thing is the three points."
