Former Huddersfield Town striker Tom Denton is savouring a Wembley win.

The 25-year-old was part of the North Ferriby United side who beat Wrexham to win the FA Trophy.

The former Football League club were beaten 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out which went to sudden death.

The final finished 3-3 after extra time, with Denton playing the full 120 minutes, then missing from the spot during he shoot-out.

Denton, also a prominent Huddersfield League cricketer, has netted 18 times for Ferriby this season.

He joined the Conference North club from Worksop Town last summer.

The 6ft 5in player caught the eye playing for Wakefield in the Northern Premier League, joining Town in a three-year contract in 2008.

But he was unable to break into the first team, and had loan spells at Woking, Wakefield and Cheltenham before agreeing a contract settlement in 2010.

He has also played for Mossley and Alfreton Town.
