BRIGHOUSE Town will provide the opposition when West Riding County Amateur chiefs select their representative squad to face Suffolk and Ipswich in the FA Inter-League Cup.

The trial match will take place at Ossett Albion a week tonight (7.30) and the extra preliminary round tie at Hadleigh United, near Ipswich, on Saturday, April 6 (2.30).

In the Premier Division, Kirkburton romped to a 6-1 win at struggling Overthorpe.

The home side belied their basement position in a strong opening to the game, when they went ahead through Lewis Ward.

But conceding an equaliser to Damian Sykes on the stroke half-time proved their undoing as Kirkburton took control in the second period.

Jack Greene grabbed two, both from well-taken left-foot free-kicks, then Sykes completed a hat trick before Paul Hodgson’s own goal. Burton are 10th in the 14-team table

Storthes Hall had James Buckley, Alex Slack and Mick Hall on the mark in a 3-2 win at Salts which put them sixth.

Premier Division title chasers Ovenden WR were beaten 2-1 by Brighouse Old Boys, of the West Yorkshire League, in the semi-finals of the Halifax FA Challenge Cup.
