Huddersfield Town fans felt Philip Billing’s wonder goal at Nottingham Forest highlighted far more than an emerging midfield talent.
The celebration of the strike which clinched Town’s 2-0 win at the City Ground pointed to a united and happy squad under head coach David Wagner.
Middlesbrough-based fan Jeff Pearce explained of the Town team: “They were superb, to a man!
“When Billing scored, every man on the team came to congratulate him – that, to me, shows a happy bunch of players.
“It was a pleasure to have been there. They say you need to make your own luck, but if the lads carry on playing as they did (at Forest) they won’t need luck!”
SPY, from Almondbury, was also impressed saying: “Simply brilliant.
“At last we get the rewards our skill and hard work deserve. We are looking up again.”
Tony, from Salendine Nook, reckons David Wagner is the best Huddersfield Town manager since Ian Greaves, while Geoff, from Doncaster, was moved to suggest Billing is the best Town prospect since Denis Law!
He explained: “At last we’ve found the missing cog in the wheel. Is it a bird, is it a plane? No its Philip Billing, the best prospect since Denis Law.
“But I must say the whole team really played well – best this year. UTT.”
Ian Taylor, based in Durham, said: “Excellent team performance by Town. Really hard to pick a man of the match, but with that great goal at the end, Billing has to be man of the match.”
Jason Tingle was pleased Town finally got reward for dominating their opposition, while Neil from Holmfirth said it was a “brilliant performance” and selected Billing as man of the match.
Simon, a fan from Ossett, suggested “all the cogs were well oiled” in Town’s performance and that Billing was outstanding.
Lynne, from Mirfield, summed it all up.
“An impressive all-round performance, topped off with a wonder goal from the classy Billing,” she said.
