Huddersfield Town have been active in the transfer market so far - and show no sign of slowing down.

Jack Payne becomes the latest recruit, leaving Southend for a three year contract at the John Smith's Stadium.

The attacking midfielder, 21, is out of contract but the League One outfit will be due a fee for his services, given he is under the age of 24.

That is yet to be agreed.

Payne will bolster a young, attacking group under David Wagner, and joins Michael Hefele, Chris Loewe, Ivan Paurevic and Joel Coleman in agreeing a move before the transfer window officially opens on July 1.

Pre-season training begins for Town on Friday, June 24.

Here's what the fans made of the announcement.

Fair to say the excitement levels for next season have only gone upwards...

And fans have been quick to recognise both Payne, and the squad, are only going to get better and better.

Squad depth has certainly improved with more on the way.

And if what rival fans have to say is any indication, Payne will be quite the addition!
