Huddersfield Town go in search of a fourth win in five league games and a third consecutive home win for the first time in four seasons at home to Brighton and Hove Albion this evening.

Manager Chris Powell has challenged his side to prolong the visitors' woeful run of form - which has seen them take just five points from a possible 24 since a 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers at the back end of August.

The Seagulls have also struggled for goals, with their return of just 11 so far only managing to better the bottom two Blackpool and Bolton Wanderers while Rotherham United and Sheffield Wednesday have the same total.

Sami Hyypia's side have however conceded eight less goals than the Terriers this season with 14 against, a tally only eight teams in the division can boast more in.

Powell changed the shape of his starting XI once again against Blackpool at the weekend, with Jonathan Hogg returning to replace Nahki Wells, who dropped to the bench.

Martin Paterson came back into the first-team fold with an appearance off the bench late on too, so Powell has a welcome selection dilemma on his hands against Hyypia's men.

Examiner predicted Huddersfield Town starting XI v Millwall:

Smithies; Smith, Hudson, Lynch, Robinson; Butterfield, Hogg, Coady; Scannell, Holt, Bunn.

Compared with our predicted XI, the fans' own team selection shows just two changes, with fans opting for Paul Dixon to come in at left-back ahead of Jack Robinson, who has made his position his own in recent weeks but not enough to impress the fans.

The other alteration hinges on the formation, but those who want to implement a 4-4-2 tonight have gone with Wells ahead of Hogg in the hope of another all-attacking display.

Town line-up picked by fans for Brighton game

Powell has now switched between a 3-5-2, 4-5-1, 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 during the last four games, with the three latter formations the most popular with Terriers fans.

Indeed, 4-4-2 prevailed by just a single vote over the 4-3-3 utilised on Saturday, with 35.29% selecting the two-pronged strikeforce and 34.12% going for just the one up front supported by two wide forwards.

Either way, there were a series of constants in the starting XI, including Alex Smithies in goal, who was picked by 88.89% of fans while No.2 Joe Murphy received just 11.11% by contrast.

Town fans have deliberated with the return of former captain Lee Peltier but Tommy Smith's continued growth in that position sees him come out on top with 88.89% of the vote, with Peltier only favoured by 11.11%.

Mark Hudson was once again the automatic choice in the middle of defence with the same total as both Smithies and Smith but partner Joel Lynch's mistake for Blackpool's goal on Saturday could be a factor in him receiving only 66.67%, down on the 80.77% he gained ahead of that game.

Town fans gave Robinson the benefit of the doubt at home to Blackpool but his performance in that game was clearly not to the taste of Town fans and now they want to see Dixon given his chance on the left.

The Scot claimed 61.11% of the vote, having run his competitor close last time out (58.87% v 41.03%) while Robinson could this time only manage 38.89%.

Saturday's man of the match Sean Scannell somewhat unsurprisingly secured the first clean sweep from a vote this season, with every fan who voted choosing the man who supplied two assists at the weekend.

The centre of midfield was also similarly unanimous, with Hogg the only other alternative to Conor Coady (44.44%) and Jacob Butterfield (50%).

Harry Bunn became Town's top goalscorer in the league with a brace on Saturday and 83.33% want to see him carry on his rich vein of form against the Seagulls.

Up front, Grant Holt was the main choice with 72.22%, narrowly beating off competition from chosen strike partner Wells (66.67%), who will hope the fans' wishes come true this evening.
